Marlo Motors began in Vergas, MN as a small auto repair shop with Marlo Sonnenberg as the mechanic. Marlo started to dabble in used cars and in 1989 the business had out grown the space in Vergas and moved to East Main Street in Perham, MN. Again, in 1995 our business out grew our location and we moved to a site one-quarter mile south of Perham on Highway 78 where today we have 3 sales offices, a large shop and detail area, lounge and room to expand. Marlo is semi-retired and as he puts it " I don't come to work now until 6:30 AM." | |||

Paul Sonnenberg, Marlo's son joined the business as a child as he followed Dad around and totally absorbed the business. After college, Paul formally joined the business and is now the President. Paul does the majority of buying for the firm and has a keen eye and sense of what the public is looking for. If you can't find the vehicle you want on our lot, Paul will shop for you and purchase exactly what you are looking for at the price you want to pay.
Greg Ratz is our top notch sales manager. Being a self professed "no pressure" guy, Greg represents our philosophy exactly. Greg and wife Jill reside on a farm outside Vergas, MN. They have 4 children, Issac and wife Alissa with “the cutest grandchildren ever” Elsie, Addison, and Caleb. Erica is stationed in North Carolina with the United States Marine. Lacey and Ben both live in Vergas. Greg is a bow, rifle and black powder hunter, along with his passion tractor pulling. We are proud to have Greg as a member of our Marlo Motor family.
Dan Lustila is our mechanic and is tenacious when tracking down any mechanical problem. He is thorough and cares about doing a good job for you. Dan's hobbies are fishing, hunting and building race cars. He is happily married to Rachel and stays busy with his four children: William, Jonathan, Josh and Joe.
Deb Sonnenberg is our office manager and 'part time sales gal'. Deb knows the car business inside out and can help you with financing, Rent 'T' Own, and could probably repair your transmission if need be. Deb is married to Paul, and they have two children in grade school. Kyle and Elizabeth are active in basketball, snowmobiling, golf, dance, football, tennis, soft ball and Girl Scouts.
Shannon Grove, is the full time Rental Manager/Sales Associate. She handles titling/licensing paperwork, answering phones, sells cars, and takes care of our fleet of rental vehicles. She will soon be married to Jared, and they live in the country just south of Perham on the Ottertail River. They have a Collie named Rusty, and 2 cats. Shannon enjoys drawing/painting, gardening, cooking, and fishing.
